I have lived in Haliburton for 28 years and have worked in the health profession since graduating from Ryerson University in 1983. My wife and I have lived and worked in Haliburton for 25 years and raised our family in this community.
I have always had a passion for music from both the listening and playing perspectives. I've been attending many musical festivals in southern Ontario for over 34 years. For the past 6-7 years I have attended many music festivals with media accreditation and have interviewed many musical artists. A very close and long time friend (Doug Gibson from CKWR, 98.5 FM in Kitchener www.ckwr.com ) has been hosting a radio program for almost 25 years. I've accompanied him at many music festivals with media passes and would attribute my initial desire to host a radio program to him.
I was part of a group that initiated open stages (outside of the bar scene) in our community. I've hosted and performed at many open stages and have been the Vice President of the Haliburton County Folk Society (HCFS) www.haliburtonfolk.com . HCFS organizes concerts and music camps www.winterfolkcamp.com in our community and promotes and sponsors music for all ages in our community. I've been playing in folk, rock and now jazz bands for about 20 years and I am currently playing in a jazz/swing trio called the "Moontones."
