1 lb lean
hamburger – brown in fry pan
Add 1
envelope Liptons onion soup mix
Add a tiny
bit of water and let boil up a few minutes. (put in large
casserole)
Add layers
of sliced canned tomatoes (optional)
Frozen
peas, sliced carrots & sliced potatoes ( any quantity to fill
casserole)
Cover with
a tin of cream of tomatoe soup – as is from the tin – rinse tin with a bit of
water and add.
Bake in a
slow oven – the longer the better. My mother made this when she could send me to
the butcher shop for 25 cents worth of ground round steak – enough to serve a
family of six. The recipe has been around for years. My daughter makes 2
casseroles at a time to stop arguments over who gets the leftovers for next days
lunch.
