We thank you very much for your interest in Haliburton’s AWARD winning volunteer community radio station. Canoe FM is an independent, NOT-FOR-PROFIT, volunteer community station and is without outside funding from government, CRTC, or other media sources.
With only three paid positions and over 75 volunteers, our service is to provide entertainment through local and international talent and a vehicle for community members, organizations and services to distribute information throughout the County. We offer volunteer opportunities in all aspects of radio broadcasting and administration.
To continue to thrive and evolve we rely on applying for grants, advertising and fundraising for the stations’ source of revenue. The radio business relies heavily on technology and Canoe has done a fabulous job of providing quality broadcasting with equipment that is aging and becoming less reliable.
